    AksumkA

Alright, thanks for answer. P.S. I just want to say big than you for doing this! I mean: I love wallhaven! I'm very glad that this format, style, and easy of browsing for wallpapers has come back. Good luck to you all in future!

Having the background at the home page randomize and change is pretty neat, love it, but the overlay is a bit daunting. Maybe make it a little more transparent or "clear"? Let some more color pop through?

Yep, if we have a couple of silly tags per wall, the hardcore taggers will sort it eventually. It's just to have something there and is a better start than having no tags.

jonivaio: the way the tagging system works is checking each tag as it's added against the system (like adding it if it doesn't exist). The way you tagged might create one long tag with several different words in it. In the future there'll be tagging for multiple uploads - we want to motivate users to help categorise content...

Multiple thoughts, all low prio but possibly nice:

    • proposed tag clusters If Tag X is used dynamically propose some other related Tags. For example Tag Animal could propose (existing) tags for kind of animal (dog, horse...), leash, whatever. Woman? Clothing, various "physical" tags, situation. Landscape? Sea, Fields, Forest, what? Clusters could be user-edited or somehow statistically formed by reading existing tags (bayesian something method?). And no, I don't have working knowledge of the needed algorithms but I like the idea.
    • upload groups Some sort of a dynamically tag for "related" uploads (Series of pics). "I like this scenery pic, I see there are similar... maybe the user uploaded a whole series but over a longer time, let's start digging with the tag search for this user in order to get all of them". Should be selectable for multiple uploads but also for single ones ("I need to upload some pics ever day due to time constraints / whenever the next pic is ready but those are still part of a series").
    • propose recently used tags I'm uploading lot of similar stuff. Propose me the tags I'm used over my last X uploads/days ordered by frequency, so I just need to click on them, won't forget the important stuff. Hopefully I'll be a responsible uploader and will manually add new relevant tags (otherwise somebody else hopefully will tag those later) as usual. I mean: yes proposing recent/frequent tags could induce a bit of laziness where only the proposed tags are added. Same thing for tag clusters. However I think that kind of laziness could happen anyway (untagged pics, pics with minimal tags), at least propose some logical ones.

hhman: Those sound very reasonable, although complicated. As you have already noted they will be low priority, since they will be very complex to implement and require the basic features to be ready. Could you maybe re-submit those thoughts in beta, when we have solid forums up, so they won't get lost?

Home page search filter would be nice, or at least basic filter settings such as "SFW, NSFW, Sketchy."

I think it works pretty nicely without though, if that appeals better.

  • 234

SFW & Sketchy search filters are sticking after refresh/reload or new search.

  • 238

I really miss “Related wallpapers” button.

  • 239

kdot: thanks, and we've not heard anything about Yotoon, but the about page should explain things.

silverm: related wallpapers is the kind of extra feature we'll add once the foundation work is done.

  • 240

What I meant was that the filters are refreshing, untoggling. Not showing what was clicked on the page previous to the resulting search page. Usually you want all filters to show on the result page, so you know what you searched and it's easier to tell if the filters actually took effect by showing they are in effect.

  • 241

Necro It almost sounds like you're doing a search, and then navigating away from it (like coming to the comments page) and not seeing the same search filters you had just set. Is that what you're doing?

  • 242

sounds more like the search bar is actually forgetting the current search settings right away, which should not happen.

    Necro:

    • what browser + OS are you using?
    • can you tell if the search filters you are applied to the results? (try toggling anime or nsfw, that should be pretty obvious in the results)
    • what happens when you set search filters in your account settings?

    @w4steland3r

    See my post #226

    No worries man!

This comments page is mostly terrible for getting information out there.

While adding a new tag (not: choosing an existing tag for the pic) the Category selector is preset on the first item of the list (currently: Anime & Manga). I think it should be empty and selection enforced before saving - otherwise saving into the wrong default category is just to easy, either due to laziness or as an involuntary error. Possibly the same could apply to the Purity selector.

Sorry for the late response. The problem doesn't seem to be appearing anymore. I thought about this while I wasn't at a computer to test it out; Wallbase's "reload/refresh" button on the right side of the search bar, the 3/4th circle with an arrow on the end refreshes the search results on that site but does it do the same here or does it reload with no search filters added? I tried it out today and it acted fine, the same way Wallbase would.

Browsing settings for filters seem to work perfectly. Also, the slide-down search bar when clicking the search button is a wicked touch, looks great! Before, the search filters I toggled untoggled, making it difficult to tell if the results were affected by the filters. I believe they weren't before.

The problem seems to clear up though. To clarify, this wasn't just a "one day" thing. I noticed it about 2 days before I made the comment and it continued up until today, for me.

If you could find a way to make you site work with hover zoom, like back in wallbase, it will be awesome

  • 250

    Kod

Wallbase didn't work with the plugin either, I had to request such on the plugin developers website.

To be honest, there's no point asking him to do the work right now, who knows if wallhaven will change how it functions soon, which would break the plugin's support.

Best to wait till it's out of alpha imo.

  • 252

too many tag categories, sorry :)

  • 254

@Underscore: multi-uploading is a current priority. I doubt we'll enter beta without it in some form.

Tsunan: the tag categories are supposed to be pretty comprehensive, but aren't set in stone. AksumkA tweaked the set I proposed and we expect to change them once the site goes live and a lot more tagging is going on, so we can see how it works out.

    @n1tro: there certainly will be!

When I want to remove something from my favorites, I get a blank page with "{"status":true} "on it. If I try to remove it again, an "Whoops, looks like something went wrong." error appears. Just wanted to give you a heads up :) The site looks awsome so far!

  • 256

Actually wallbase does work with Hover Zoom. It always has been working for me.

  • 257

Please, create app for android :)

  • 258

So far so good. Keep up the great work guys! Will report any bugs found.
