Banning AI Art

I don’t really agree with the decision to ban AI-generated images just because they’re seen as “stealing” from other artists. I get that there are real concerns around ethics and who owns what, but applying that logic to a wallpaper aggregation site like this feels a bit inconsistent to me.

Instead of going straight to a full ban, it might make more sense to push for clearer labeling, better guidelines, and more open discussion about responsible use. That way people know what they’re looking at, whether the image was made by a human, AI, or a mix of both.

I disagree with you.

1. AksumkA made a decision to stop AI art because it is getting worse, as his statement said: "We're banning AI art starting June 28th. Fighting back against enshittification as best as we can."

2. Making a label or better guideline does not help to stop AI overload on the latest wallhaven as well as hot and toplist. It's too much work for them, so it's better to not have them on it, but you can still look back on AI art from the past.

What about AI upscaled images?

Many modern upscaling techniques use AI in one way or another these days. The quality of the image is judged individually, if in the end it doesn't have signs of low quality it's good.

Which sites offer similar with AI art allowed? I used this site because I can filter by aspect ratio, resolution (including 'at least' setting) and then SFW, NSFW and various tags all at the same time.

Since we started banning AI art, why haven't we changed the Uploading rules of " All AI art must be tagged as AI Art"? It's still there almost a year later.

I have the same question as the person above.I am only reading this post now, and a few hours ago I uploaded a few AI paintings that I like.When I saw that uploading those pictures would result in my account being banned, I felt a mix of panic and reluctance.Because I want to share some high-quality paintings by my favorite AI artists on Pixiv.It seems that I need to delete them quickly?

Another Idea is to implement the Live wallpaper or GIF wallpaper because that would be cool to have on Wallhaven. That all.

the fact that banning AI pigshit is enough to bring "old internet" vibes to some people is scary... dark times we're living. even darker times we're marching into.

With every year, progress is made at an accelerating rate. But we could go on another path. With increased RAM costs and load pressure, many AI services are renouncing their free model and go behind paywalls. But that may also be because they've just completed training their models on the back of the general public, so we'll see.

Well as long as people can still post art of Kizuna Ai then that is fine.

This is excellent news, I really appreciate it. It's really hard to find corners of the internet where the AI slop isn't crowding out everything else. I know it'll be hard to find and catch everything, but just knowing that it's banned and will be removed if caught makes me feel better about using this website.
