Banning AI Art

Thank you! I firmly believe this is the right call. AI art certainly has a place, but I tend to think it's a more ephemeral one, given how easy it is to generate more. There's some good quality AI stuff out there, but you run the risk of drowning in it.

There's nothing like a good'old drama to welcome me after a some time of inactivity.

Do you guys on the adm/modderation side have tools or a strategy to prevent the misuse of the tag manipulation system? Mass deletion is always dangerous, especially if you let an untrusted source decide what to remove. What if someone starts tagging real drawings or pictures as AI-Generated just for it to be deleted? or the contrary, people deleting the AI tag of their favorite AI-Generated images for it not to be deleted? i haven upload in a while but i woulnd be happy to see a bunch of my uploads gone just bc someone decided to tag it as AI.

Excellent decision thank you so much for having common sense. NO AI slop please!!!!

As an artist (I'm not doing it to make a living right now, it's more of a hobby) I welcome this change for the reason where it aims to channel the old internet vibe I know this will anger some people but there's other sources online keeping a community of human based artists is the way to go I'm excited to see more creative content that's not been generated how AI is going to be moderated we'll see it could be very time consuming but at least the word is out there and people will respect this decision.

Thank you very much! Finally I can browse through my subscriptions again without seeing same-faces everywhere.

Big W, full support here. I never interacted with anybody on this website but today i just want to say thank you to all the people posting absolute bangers and to you and the staff that make this possible.

All my wallpapers are coming from here and if i saved any that is AI by mistake i would really like them to be removed aswell.

Kindly, have a great day :)

Agreed and I think we have more than enough resources for AI art out there should someone want wallpapers made by that, with how rough the internet has gotten it's nice to have a few spaces here and there without that sort of nonsense and to keep the older feeling of the internet...

I didn't see anything scary in AI art. But I won't miss it either.

  • 38285

Best decision, I was kinda tired of seeing these ai generated wallpapers.

  • 38286

Won't miss these as far as I'm concerned, there is plenty of websites for AI wallpapers, this one will be spared, at least till we can't figure out what is AI content or not. Maybe not forever who knows??

I'm a bit disappointed as I always thought of this as a wallpaper site, not an art-site, but this is AksumkA s site. and he should do what he feels is right. I fully respect this decision. AI generated images aren't everyones cup of tea.

I'm grateful for being a part of this amazing site and community, the 7,732,723 views and 745 subscribers who appreciated my uploads.

That's a fair take. Your posts tend to be significatly higher quality than the average AI uploader. Do you plan on hosting your images elsewhere?

Very good! I support this decision! Art should be created from people to people. I hate getting fooled by AI. No space for low life prompt enduser using stolen reference.

I myself have experience creating both images and videos using ComfyUI. I can tell you that generating a good image with AI is not easy at all. The process requires a significant amount of time spent tweaking and fine-tuning various parameters. What needs adjustment also varies drastically depending on the specific AI model used. Ultimately, it demands a substantial investment of time and dedication.

However, I also believe too many people are using AI to produce low-quality content and uploading it everywhere. This has led to the widespread perception that AI equals low quality.

Therefore, regarding AI-generated images, I think it requires joint effort from both the website and its users to filter and manage them effectively. While exploring wallpapers, I've also come across quite a few AI-generated images that go unnoticed (or: that people don't spot).

I wanted to voice my opinion here too, I love that you are fighting to keep the dead internet theory from coming a fact in wallhaven, Even if some people love AI art they can find other places which there are numerous, to get their fix. I personally like to talk to humans and interact with them and enjoy their work and art.

Keep it up, I approve of this update immensely!

You really look like a dictator, freedom and democracy are just like a pile of shit to you. Do you think that as long as you delete my comments, everything will be fine? My comments don’t even contain any words that violate community guidelines. You should be ashamed of yourself. I will keep posting as many times as you delete, and I don’t mind attacking your website until you apologize to me.

Do you know why there isn't a single opposing voice in the comments? It's because you have deleted all the comments from those who oppose.

Dear user, we use english only here and your deleted comment was written in foreign language. Was not even read. Threats don't work here.

sytrus720 You're not adequate at all.

    1. This is the best wallpaper site on the Internet, and its creator doesn't force us to watch ads. And its creator has the absolute right to do what he wants with it, unlike you who registered here 2 months ago.
    2. It is you who should be ashamed.
    3. “there isn't a single opposing voice” you didn't even take the time to read the comments, my comment was one of the first, in which I defend the generated images, and it was not deleted like other comments with the same position.
    4. Despite the fact that I love generated images, I fully support the choice of the developer.
    5. I don't like you.

Pinterest and Pixiv are absolutely terrible for discovery now because of AI art I fully agree with slamming down on it!
