mcswan I'd say the opposite about pickiness. When I search through General, I don't want to see anime unless it's drawn in the style. people who don't like anime will possibly complain since it's not organized correctly.

odAyzaod Lol, maybe something got lost in translation since English is not my native language. I'm not a pessimist of the current media or nostalgic for the past at all. There were good things in the past, yes. There was also a lot of crappy stuff as well. Is there crappy stuff now? Sure. But there are also some top tier insane things coming out every single month. I loved the Castlevania series, Nimona was awesome, Hilda which ended just this week, the new She-Ra was insanely good, and I hear good things of the new Scott Pilgrim thing. So yeah...

SuccubusJJ Yes there are a lot of NEW shows that are good, I love some of the ones you mentioned as well, though I haven't seen some of them. What I meant was the "reboots", as in when they take old shows and they try to modernize it or bring it back from the old days and the end up producing something really cringe or just terrible compared to the original show/movie. Of course, there are some pretty good reboots too, but for the most part, not really. I also just noticed all the shows you mentioned are anime, I wasn't talking about just anime, anime's hardly ever bad, its like some kinda weird unwritten law or something.

GrateButWhole I’m usually more drawn to RPGs (especially turn based with solid storytelling), city/community/farm building, story or character driven games, occasionally VNs (I’m a huge Ace Attorney fan) and the eventual platformer or strategy (usually turn based), and very rarely 4x (not competitive).

SuccubusJJ GrateButWhole Oh! I’m sorry, my answer didn’t address the games you brought up. Haven’t played any of those. I would try them, I know I have Control on my wishlist and I have read a news headline or two about Alan Wake but that one has never caught my interest.

SuccubusJJ Control is a good game by itself, and if you end up playing that and liking the narrative aspects of it, then I encourage giving Alan Wake a shot as they share the same universe. The game has a lot of a narrative, and if you can handle horror, the game is pretty easy on story mode.
