Uploading a whole folder would be in my opinion "nonsense", because that would be a pain in the *** to flag tag everything.

I think the 20 limit is just perfect. I've been uploading quite a few walls now and it feels good. And you have a good overview of your images to tag. I would lose more time if I had to check 100 walls or more at a time.

    spooky gatosardina

I see how it would be a pain tagging them all but uploading them altogether would be a lot easier, but after you upload all of them then your gonna only be uploading wallpapers you find on the internet right?

  • 1350

gatosardina its easier to upload 20 walls at a time then to clean up the mess you make if you do it in one go. Hell, you even make a mess when you do 20 at a time.

  • 1351

Please don't allow batch uploading of more than a few tens (20 is good). I agree with chibi, users won't pay attention to tagging/flagging wallpapers. Remember people: quality > quantity

  • 1353

    @邪恶卷卷: you can't open what?

TenSoon: don't worry - that's our policy. We're not going to loosen things like files per upload - if users want to upload many walls, they'll just have to categorise them too.

  • 1358

Owl No. We will, however, import all the wallpapers we saved from wallbase.

  • 1359

Bulk download of favorites collection would be an awesome feature to be added.

    Thoughts?

  • 1360

Any word on "at least" option for sizes/ratios?

  • 1362

Do you know if you will use the black (or grey?) color scheme or the blue one from the start page. I by myself like the dark grey theme from wallbase more. Even in Alpha wallhaven is the best wallpaper Webpage right now :D <3

  • 1363

At the moment I have 3 wallpapers uploaded, but when I cover the top right corner slide menu it shows me "Uploads" and the number 1. I think it must be 3.

  • 1364

@dwemer That number takes a little to update, it uses caching.

panekomo The startpage may or may not change, for now it's blue. The rest of the site will always be dark/grey to provide a neutral background for the wallpapers.

Basic Yeah there's a little bug with the interface not getting updated. Nothing serious, as you noticed.

    douko [url]http://alpha.wallhaven.cc/development[/url]

gonzoed9 We've thought about it but haven't really decided yet. If we do this it'll have some serious restrictions (size limits) since it would be quite heavy on the server.

Hi! I'm liking wallhaven up to now, and would love to contribute further, but I've failed to find where the source code is located. Maybe this should be linked in the /development page, which is where anyone interested in contributed would look for first? Cheers!

How about using CommonMark (http://commonmark.org/) instead of BBCode. CommonMark is pretty common these days (reddit, github, stackoverflow, discourse, etc), standard and user friendly. BBCodes is pretty much ten-years ago.

  • 1368

    Main page looks really bad imo. It feels like I'm on an another website (a shittier one) when I click the logo and see it. I miss wallbase ;_;

  • 1369

hobarrera: that's because the source is closed. If you'd like to contribute, check the FAQs to see the tools we use and message AksumkA if you're competent with them.

@swish: try the upload button in the top left corner.

deksudo: the design isn't final, front page included, and we're not setting out to be a straight clone of WB.

  • 1370

I actually really like the front page. I also really like the subsequent pages after you clink on one of the links. I don't however, think the two really go with one another.

I think you'd be good going either the more colorful wallhaven color scheme (homepage) or the more classically wallbase influence color scheme(Latest, as an example), however I do think as an organization a decision will have to made and then be consistently implemented accross all site pages at some point.

cfunk: From what I can tell, CommonMark isn't closed (spec at http://spec.commonmark.org, current code at https://github.com/jgm/CommonMark).

I don't really care between BBCode or CommonMark. This site isn't really a message board, nor was it designed for discussion on pictures, but instead as a way to share pictures. At this point it seems like a moot point to implement something new.

  • 1371

People, the option for sources is to list out a website. Well, that only works if one HAS a website. If one makes all the walls as originals in PS and then wants to share them.....right.....it does not work.

Please provide the means to list the original source OTHER than a website.

    Thanks,

  • 1372

Is there one of these somewhere? I grow so tired of seeing amazing walls and then having to download them one by one.

  • 1374

While it may or may not be that serious of a bug/problem it could still cause problems. You see, when ever you reload a page or come back to it a second time it recounts your view; whether that be a profile, favorites, or wallpaper view, it adds another view even though you've already seen it ounce. This is bad because someone can just keep viewing the same wallpaper over and over again and suddenly it's the most viewed wallpaper. Not sure who would sit around doing that but I figured I shouldn't leave this unreported.

  • 1376

syed In Settings>Browsing under View Filters unselect Sketchy and NSFW and they won't be selected every time your browsing thru the wallpapers.

  • 1377

When I tried to upload six(6) new wallpapers, they appears on the screen like this http://i.imgur.com/NZZfb4z.png as you can see, the only 3 thumbs were showed and the rest were not. The rest of upload process causes no problems.

  • 1378

As titled. Part of the function set that WallBase had, is that one can drag file to save to Windows Explorer before click to zooming on the wall.

Another thing I have noticed is that the side bar hide state isn't saving, as it did in WB.

  • 1379

lurker: I was talking about the site code.

UnfitBrewer: I'm sure there's a scraper out there that could download from certain categories or tags, or browser extensions to download displayed images quicker, but these are of course unofficial. If you want to download a lot, you might just have to make the effort.

KawaiiKorekuta: we've just not implemented smart counting yet. This will probably change eventually but it's not been a problem so far.

@dwemer: try renaming the files - the uploader might be getting confused by certain chars in the name.

neo0031: the UI is far from done so these things will at least be considered.

  • 1380

neo0031 That should work just as with any image. If it doesn't it's your browser's problem. Remember, that in some browsers you have to hold shift while dragging an image to save the file. Sidebars will remember their state after the next update.

Do you plan to get out of the alpha end of 2014 ?
