I've been tinkering for a few days with a cross platform CLI app for Wallhaven. It's called 'Wallchemy'. It's pretty easy to use and let's you change your wallpaper from the command line. It will select randomly from random, toplist, hot or even just from your collections. Feel free to have look and tell me what you think and any suggestions to improve it.

I've also made a Chrome extension that works with it so you can change your wallpaper straight from wallhaven.cc with one click.

I installed it from the Chrome Web Store to try it out and review it, but after a few minutes, I realised that it required programming - a task I'm not really interested in because it feels too exhausting.

Here’s a suggestion: for your Wallchemy extension, could you add a tab or sidebar, similar to Wallhaven, in the top left corner of the screen? It would be great if it offered options like Latest, Hot, Toplist, Random, or even My Collection, so that I could easily choose a wallpaper.

You don't have to accept the suggestion, but I hope your Wallchemy extension will do well.

No programming is necessary. The Wallchemy app just requires a single command to be run in the terminal to start the background process that the Chrome extension communicates with to change the background.

You're suggestion is welcome though. A quick view of your collections is a great idea.

This app is awesome. Is there any way to make it access wallhaven.cc through the system proxy?

I've been using 'variety', to fetch wallpapers from here, and mix them with wallpapers I've acquired since childhood. If you could modify your tools to also use a local folder as a source, then I might switch over.
