Identical Tags Found on Wallpaper Flare – Seeking Advice

Hi everyone, I noticed an image I uploaded on Wallhaven, along with its exact tags, has been reposted on Wallpaper Flare. While I don't mind the repost, it’s concerning that my custom tags were copied word-for-word apart from 'HD wallpaper'.

Has anyone experienced this before? What’s the best way to address this situation without having the Wallpaper Flare post removed? Should I ask for attribution or just leave it as is? I'd appreciate any advice or insight!

Sure, I don't mind someone uploading to a different site, but what if someone constantly copies and pastes the exact same thing as yours? What would you do? Just curious.

Hmm well that's what copycats do. One can teach them a lesson if they're approachable.

What would u do khyden ??

Honestly, I'm not stupid, and I wouldn't take the risk. There's not much one can do in such situations, so I'd rather just leave it alone than point fingers or stir things up unnecessarily.

The main problem is that wallpaperflare and some other websites literally scrape wallhaven, they abuse the API and try to get some traffic on their websites by re-uploading wallpapers with their tags.

Most of them don't even have real users, user names (if they exist) are generated automatically and they upload weird collections of wallpapers.

Yeah, I agree. What's even weirder is that if we can't find the username or it doesn't have a username, then it might be an A.I. that collected all the wallpaper and posted it on the Wallpaper Flare site within 1 or 3 minutes. That is my guess.

Too expensive and complicated, they just use good ol' bots and scripts

Yeah, your absolutely right, what am I saying. Also I just found out that the bot/script can't take sketchy and NSFW post on Wallpaper Flare.

i think that wallhaven admins already know about this, but the question is: what can you do about it?

most wallpapers here are also re uploads from other websites on the internet, so there isn't much you can do.

if you are the original author of something you uploaded here, you can request DMCA take down on other websites, but i doubt that will work
