just a question, in the future, will there be a way to select a portion of a image to set as a profile background?? i noticed it only seems to take the middle part of the image as the background, and thought it might be kind of cool if we could use like, a draggable box or something to designate what part of the image we want to use.
unless that function exists already?
drgrumbles The way it works won't play nice with a draggable like option. You can now however select where to lock it. Top, center (default), or bottom. Check your settings.

Wicked update guys. Loving it, excited to see this site advance even further :] I found a couple things I think might(?) be an issue.
A source I added to an upload of mine was incorrectly named and it's not able to be edited. Is this because it was uploaded before the latest update? As well, because it's not a proper link, when clicked it goes to an error page; "Oops, looks like something went wrong." instead of attempting to run to the improper source. Is this how it should lead when it's an improper link?

As well, how does someone actually make a Collection? I can't seem to find the option anywhere.
Just go to your favorites(hover your nick in the top right corner) and you will see the option in the left panel.
Necro As of now, only staff can modify a source. The idea is to prevent abuse . We do plan on giving users more control over their own uploads soon, I'll add this to the list. In the mean time, let me know what the source should be and I'll update it.
Will there be merging of tags, and who can merge them?

Great! Instead of Wallbases old ways of going to the forums and requesting tag merges. Perhaps there can be a system where users merge two+ tags and the request gets sent to mods/admins/whoever for approval. Kind of like how Foursquare merges work.
It would also be nice to hit ESC, instead of using the mouse to exit the tagging dialog box.
memories We will add tag reporting where you can select 'duplicate' as a reason. Keyboard shortcuts are planned, I'll add ESC to cancel any pop-ups as well.
Have you decided on a specific tag standard? A unified one that states for example that tags should always use the plural form of a subjective (i.e. women over woman) or that verbs as tags should all use the same grammatical tense (i.e. jumps vs. jumping)?
The tags as of right now seems to be a random mass lacking a unified standard. We also seems to have tags that are open for a highly subjective interpretation, such as the "Hot" tag, which I assume will be cleaned out further in development.
Great work otherwise! It's really interesting to see the site being developed and you've already managed to nail the majority of features.

The IRC Channel is never stable for me. No matter which computer I tap into it from. Is this an issue that anyone else has? It's constantly giving me the alert saying that the server likely reset, afterwords I am no longer able to talk & I have to wait for the timeout to ping my Nick out, so I can re-use it.
After deleting a tag for a wallpaper and re-adding the same tag, you're unable to delete it again without refreshing the page. and you're unable to add it to a new tag category, regardless of refreshing. Is this a problem? For instance, I wanted to correct the wrong tag, putting Female in Peoples, instead of putting it in Art & Design.(Though I guess in retrospect it could stay in Art & Design, properly. )
Make 4k a res option
I doubt it's my connection. I've tried it on various different machines & locations. I logged in earlier today and less than 2 minutes later it popped up the alert and I wasn't able to chat anymore. Maybe some loose screw will tighten itself out and we'll see?
Also, wicked to hear you patched it so quickly, considering you just updated. I think it's a good idea to let the staff have most editing rights.
Necro, how are you connecting to IRC? We don't run that server, so if you're getting disconnected, there's not much we can do for you.
If you're going in via the web link we have on the bottom of the site, you might have better luck with an actual IRC client.
It's via the webchat so I'll likely have a better time on a client but because I'm waiting on my own new personal computer, I can't use anything else. I'll stick to this for now, till I can get one or until it becomes more stable. AksumkA, do you chat in the channel much? I never see you in there, though I'm not there for long myself..
The channel's usually on the quiet side unless there's a few of us talking shop (dev stuff). Though once we get some more people in there, I'm sure we'll see more conversations.
As for when I'm on, I'm there for a few hours every day. Usually between 5:30 and 10PM EST.
