Color Pallet Possible solution?

I stumbled across another wallpaper site, and this one has a functioning color pallet picker.

Looks like the current color palette for images is very off in some cases. For example, in these photos: 4lmkyn or 4oxll4 the red color should be obviously one of the prominent colors.

I'm not sure what the method is to generate the palette here, but both "K-Means" and "Median Cut" algorithms for creating a palette of 5 have generated that red color.
