Report wrong category or source of wallpaper here.

OK, so instead of marking a wallpaper for deletion in order to report that it is in the wrong category, let's use this thread as a means to report those cases.

[color=#FFFF99]One simple rule:[/color] Enclose the Wallpaper ID in square brackets [ ] when reporting so the wallpaper thumb is visible, and mention what category you think they should be in.

Wallpaper ID is present in the link for the wallpaper.

Example: http://alpha.wallhaven.cc/wallpaper/253702

In this case, 253702 is the wallpaper ID. Enclose that in square brackets and you get this:

Shouldn't be in anime [n6ro37]

Currently there seems to be a heap of random wallpapers that tagged as anime for no reason. Oddly in some cases the wallpaper has multiple anime tags on it. e.g this wallpaper of a random dog

Because it's not an anime wallpaper. Anime should be just for anime, manga and other related art works; cosplay is a photo of person not a drawn picture.

More cosplays in the anime category, most don't have tags for any specific series or character at the time of this post either.

Strongly disagree, enacted anime is still anime, just like a photo of a model starship would still be science fiction. I would hate to blacklist cosplay, only because the majority of it isn't where it belongs.

Your only valid counterargument - if any - would be that people can cosplay Marvel and DC for example, while neither of them is anime, but if I see a cosplay photo of someone imitating a character from an anime, I'd still expect it to be uploaded in the anime category, not people.

Exactly what Asagrim said! Anime cosplay has no use or relevance for someone who is not into anime. If you say the Anime category is only for drawn art, would you allow Disney cartoons to be uploaded to Anime category? Then why are you imposing Anime cosplay on the People category? If you don't want it, ask it to be banned.

P.S.: Given there is so much ANIME cosplay uploaded into the ANIME category, many ANIME uploaders themselves believe it should belong in the ANIME category. I think it is the elitist few who are dumping it in People.

To be honest I suggested way back, that the Anime category should be renamed "Cartoon" and that every drawn character or scenery part of an animated or otherwise drawn title (animated motion picture, graphic novel etc.) regardless of its origin should go in there, because "anime" itself can be dealth with using just a single tag. Of course that didn't happen.

Anime fans don't realize how privileged they are that they have their own button, the least they could do is to stop being nitpicky about it.

Guys, put it in another thread. This one has a very specific purpose. Maybe throw in a strawpoll, that could help us settle the debate a lot quicker.

If this ill-placed discussion is getting people talking, so be it! We can transfer it to a new thread and delete the posts from here after the discussion is done. I am for keeping momentum going rather than being a purist and breaking the momentum of the debate.

Guys. People are people. Anime is anime. It doesn't make sense to place cosplayers in Anime just because they're cosplaying an anime character.

I'm sorry you don't like anime. But this is how we're going to be doing things here. Blacklist cosplay if you're sick of us weeb trashing up your listings. Something fell through the cracks? Tag it and never see it again.

Its clear from this discussion that anime cosplay pics are not wanted in Anime nor People category. So wouldn't the sensible approach be to ban it, instead of forcefully imposing it on one or the other?

P.S. : This is not about liking or disliking anime. This is about imposing content for which there is a well defined category, into other categories. Substitute Anime with Porn for any other category that may have been defined, and the discussion would have been the same.
