Hello! A year ago I created a simple mobile-friendly web app to browse some Wallhaven images: https://wallhaven.cc/forums/thread/5039

It worked alright for a year until a few weeks ago I started getting 429 errors all the time.

The app does not have heavy traffic/usage and mostly just used to browse some wallpapers to download on mobile. It is hosted on Cloudflare and it might be the problem.

If you recently changed anything regarding the rates or throttled some IPs like Cloudflare's, could I ask for an exception for my website? Another option would be to allow it in CORS, so that I could let browsers fetch the API directly.

Is there anything that can be done here to make the website work properly again? Thanks!

I wonder if it's to prevent some other site just proxying WH's content. To tack on to this, maybe make CORS header to require an user to supply their API key?

Yes, API keys for user-specific limits is also a good solution to this. Right now the keys do not provide such feature
