about dead threads

i'm a new user and i really like to navigate in the forums(even they being a little messy), but is so strange when a reply to a specific thread(or a comment in a thread) that is showing in the board and then i see that the last post was 10 years ago... This made me think how much history there was here, how all of this begin? Is there any main developer team?

People 10y ago would be talking about some random shi(and consuming nsfw of course :P) in this site, yk its a strange feeling to look at that, some times it look a bit abandoned, but is cool.

Yeah same here, I recently decided to check the forums only to see the same thing Not complaining tho, I like the vibe of seeing people replying to threads from 8 years ago or so

It all started on a website called wallbase, one day, the owner, yotoon, just vanished. After that ak and the others created wallhaven, and so here we are.

Some threads are dead, others not so much, it's common, I guess. People move on, some come back others don't. I have fond memories from both wallbase and wallhaven, and I still have fun here, it just not as big in my life as it used to be, and probably it's the same for a lot of people.
