Why There Are So Many Nude Wallpapers

I have been using Wallhaven for some time now, and I truly appreciate the excellent photography and artwork that is available here. Even when I'm not looking for explicit material, I've noticed that there are a lot of nude or highly sexualized wallpapers. People are free to like what they like, and this is not intended to be a criticism of anyone's preferences. Just wondering Why do you think the amount of nude content is so high? Is it because it receives more upvotes or views? Do some artists upload here because their options are limited elsewhere?

I think it's just because these kind of pictures are easier to find. It probably doesn't take much for a photographer to take pics of models in comparison with a good picture of anything else and I'm sure there's more market for nudes online. Some studies claim that up to 30% of online content is pornography so is not surprising that free image hosting sites like these are mostly nudes.

I think part of it comes from the fact that visual platforms often attract communities around certain niches, and once a niche gets big enough, it snowballs. NSFW artists know that Wallhaven has an audience for their work, so they keep coming back, and that content ends up more visible just because it’s consistently uploaded. It’s less about production difficulty and more about how communities and algorithms amplify what already has an audience.

Because NSFW is more attention-grabbing and maybe increases the site’s entry traffic.

Joking aside, tasteful nude art belongs in any random wallpaper collection. Pornographic ones don't.
